I do not think that the wireless waves I have discovered will have any practical application.
— Heinrich Rudolf Hertz (1857-1894)
I received my “Laurea” and Master degrees from University of Pisa (Italy) both in 2004. In 2008 I have pursued the Ph.D. in Information Engineering at University of Pisa cooperating both with the Institute of Informatic and Telematic (IIT) at Italian National Research Council (CNR) and CREATE-NET research center in Trento.
My research interests include wireless networks with emphasis on Medium Access Control (MAC) and routing protocols for IEEE 802.16 and mesh networks.
I spent around one year in the Wireless Networks Laboratory (WINET) at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where I was a visiting scholar under the supervision of Dr. Yuguang "Michael" Fang.
After a period spent with Altran consulting company, on february 2008 I joined Thales-I D3S where I am currently Lead Engineer of IP networks for metro projects.
Since november 2008, I have been appointed in Dubai as resident engineer of transmission protocols (i.e., fiber optic networ (FON), multi-service network (MSN) and Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH)) for Dubai Metro project.
My main responsibility is to assure the integration and the technical support during the Installation and Test & Commissioning phases for MSN, FON and SDH.
